Our Story
Our Story
The Cambridge School of Wine was established in 2006 by Ian Smith who graduated with a master’s degree in wine studies from the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester in 2005. Previously, Ian had been working in the food and drinks industries as a research scientist and then subsequently in education. Initially the Cambridge School of Wine was offering wine tasting and appreciation classes then in 2008 the Cambridge School of Wine began running academic wine courses in collaboration with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and this continues to this day.
The Cambridge School of Wine currently offers the Level 1 and Level 2 WSET wine courses, both of which are ideally suited for someone working in any wine related business and form an excellent foundation for future study in this fascinating subject. Qualifications from both courses are recognized by Ofqual.
